Most trackers tell you your positions are down. Almost none tell you why it matters — whether the thesis broke, or whether this is normal noise inside a working thesis. That second half is the actual job.
The three layers of useful tracking
- Marks — price, P/L, weights (every app has this).
- Thesis state — for each holding: quality score unchanged? valuation still under ceiling? thesis breaks intact?
- Timing — what does the signal say now; has anything aged into a review window?
